Capricorn High School was established in 1961 and is one of a number of secondary schools located in the city of Polokwane, Limpopo Province. It is a public school within the Department of Education, Limpopo Provincial Government and the medium of instruction is English.  The school also offers hostel facilities and has two hostels; Southveld Hostel (girls) and Schoolhouse Hostel (boys).  In terms of academic performance, the school consistently achieves a rating in the provincial top 20 for its Grade 12 results and is renowned for the high percentage of bachelor passes.
